Commerce – The Commerce ISD on Sunday, September 20 will hold a formal dedication ceremony and open house for the new A.C. Williams Elementary School.
The public is invited to the event, which takes place from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the site, located along Culver Street/Loop 178 across from the Commerce Middle School.
Groundbreaking on the $12.5 million facility, to house 3rd through 5th graders, began in May, 2008. Commerce residents overwhelmingly approved the $14 million bond package in May, 2007.
Crews from W.B. Kibler Construction Company see no issue with having everything complete by the start of classes in August, based on their report to the CISD Board on Monday.
