Defendants to plead guilty in local fraud case

By Brad Kellar

Commerce – Guilty pleas are expected today in a fraud case connected to a Hunt County oil and gas firm.

At least two of the five North Texas residents, Donald Dean and Kevin Hayes, intend to plead guilty.

Two of the other defendants have had their trials rescheduled for next March, and a fifth has a hearing set for next week to get a new lawyer.

Trials had been scheduled next month for all five, who are charged in engaging in organized crime and securities fraud.

Each defendant had previously pleaded not guilty to all charges.
