Tyler – The attorney representing Dennis Boyd Pittman, a defendant in the so-called Mineola child sex ring case has withdrawn his motion for a "change of venue".
Defense Attorney Jason Cassel also requested that Pittman's trial start Thursday as scheduled. He faces charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child and engaging in organized criminal activity.
The ruling comes the same week the attorney for Patrick "Booger Red" Kelly asked that his client be released on a $25,000 personal recognizance bond while he awaits a new trial.
Kelly's conviction, along with that of Jamie Pittman's was recently overturned on appeal.
