Delta County elects sheriff, constable

Delta County – Unofficial final results have surfaced in Delta County, where residents have selected a sheriff, and County Constable Precinct 5, Place 1.

Republican Candidate Gerald W. Teague claimed 68% of the vote Tuesday to win the race for sheriff. Teague defeated Democratic challenger Gayland Wood.

In the race for Constable Precinct 5, Place 1, it was Republican Ben Snow coming out on top, receiving 63% of the vote. Challenging Snow for the position was Democrat Dustin Smith.

There were three unopposed races in Delta County Tuesday. Democrat Michael Bartley will become County Attorney, Democrat Dawn Stewart will assume the position of Tax Assessor-Collector, and Democrat Wayne Poole will become Delta County Commissioner, Precinct No. 3.
