Delta County Receives State Highway 24 Expansion Refund

The newly constructed west bound lanes of State Highway 24 in Delta County are now open to traffic.

Sulphur River Regional Mobility Association Chairman Delbert Horton presented a check in the amount of $49,435.74 as a refund of the Delta County investment funds not used in the expansion of State Highway 24. Each entity received a refund based on what was contributed.

Also in the meeting of the Delta County Commissioners Court approved the agreement with the City of Cooper for Delta County to provide law enforcement protection services within the municipal boundaries was approved. The contract remains the same as in previous years.

The County gave a letter of understanding between the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and the City of Cooper relating to the terms and conditions for the use of the City of Cooper property as a law enforcement firearms training range. The range will not be open to the public.
