Texas A&M University-Commerce economics professor Dr. Dale Funderburk reflects on the prediction of Texas economist Dr. Ray Perryman that the East Texas economy will outperform the state as a whole and the nation in 2016, despite the slide in oil prices and the the stock market slump.  Perryman says the East Texas economy is much more diverse than it once was, naming health care, real estate, construction, and higher education as strong areas.
