The Eagles' coach enters his third season with a new set of challenges.

After winning only two games in 2010, Detroit High School hired Lance Connot to coach the Eagles. He has since won 16 games, earned two district titles and coached an All-State running back, Devonya Bell. But this year, Connot faces quite a difficult challenge, as he lost Bell and several other significant players, including All Red River Valley linebackers Devin Ervin and Lane Manginell, All District defensive linemen Matthew Brown and Clay Taylor, and All District defensive back Travis Bryant.

Still, Connot has a huge group of impact seniors on this year’s team, including All Red River Valley offensive lineman Lane Allen, All District offensive lineman Trevor Cato and Blake Westbrook, and All District quarterback Trevor Reger, who now has 22 career starts under his belt. Detroit faces its two toughest opponents of the 2013 season in the last two weeks, when the Eagles will host Overton and visit Maud.
