Deuell unopposed due to Hall's clerical error
By Brad Kellar
AUSTIN - There’s also been a shakeup in the race for the district two seat for State Senate, as Incumbent Senator Bob Deuell of Greenville is the only candidate on the May 29 ballot.
Deuell’s only opponent, Bob Hall of Edgewood, may have violated a state law. According to an official with Deuell’s campaign, the law states that the candidate must have lived in the state for at least five years prior to the election date.
Hall says he made a clerical error in filing his paperwork in December, and learned of the problem after the filing date had expired. The filing period ended last Friday.
