Did I Hear You Right? Glass Bathroom in Sulphur Springs?

SULPHUR SPRINGS - If you’ve never heard of an outdoor all-glass bathroom, you’re not alone. But within a few weeks, the City of Sulphur Springs could be the first in the nation to have one.

It would be located on the newly remodeled downtown square. But don’t worry, as long as the outside light is brighter than the inside, you won’t be able to see in. That’s according to City Manager Marc Maxwell.

He tells KPLC-TV:

"So it's like the windshield of your car except a whole lot thicker and a lot stronger and it's got that mirrored finish in between the layers.”

Mayor Craig Johnson hopes it can serve as a tourist attraction.

"What generates tourism is things that are unique and this is definitely going to be unique. Not just in East Texas but in the united states," Johnson said.

Part of the inspiration for the project came from Italian artist, Monica Bonivicini, who created a similar piece outside of a museum in Switzerland in 2004.

We found this example of  a "see-thru toilet" on Youtube.
