Doctor's Creek Unit of Cooper Lake State Park undergoes flooding

With the recent rains Cooper Lake State Parks have endured their share of rains bringing the lake to beyond full pool. Following the Memorial Day weekend thunderstorms Doctors Creek park, located near Cooper, reports the fishing pier and swimming area is closed along with half camping loop road closed and some shelters are under water.

Representatives of the park said they had some with reservations for this upcoming weekend but they were not currently occupied. Visitors are advised to be aware of the muddy conditions.

The South Sulphur Park reports no incidents with flooding at this time. The weekend brought many to the park for fishing, swimming and in celebration of the holiday.
