Downtown fountain to enhance renovation designs
SULPHUR SPRINGS - A lighted, interactive fountain is planned for downtown Sulphur Springs following approval Friday to enter into a purchasing cooperative.
Council’s decision to join the National Joint Powers Alliance enables the city to purchase the water feature, which will add to the downtown renovation effort.
City Manager Marc Maxwell says the fountain will form the shape of the Texas star, and be illuminated with ultra violet light. Kids will even be allowed to walk through or play in the fountain.
Work on the project will take place in 2012.
