GREENVILLE - The public is invited to discuss the draft Hunt County Transportation Plan in meetings scheduled for this month in Greenville and Commerce.

The Hunt County Transportation Committee, in conjunction with the Regional Transportation Council of the North Center Texas Council of Governments, will conduct the forums.

Tuesday's meeting at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center is the first of two meetings, with the second set for January 30 at the Texas A&M University-Commerce Alumni Center.

The Hunt County Transportation Committee, comprised of elected and appointed city and county officials and business and community leaders, held its first meeting in February 2010. Over the past year, they’ve sought to implement a transportation plan that addresses challenges and opportunities, implements guidance and incorporates studies and planning projects. Significant input from the public has been obtained through the process to ensure safe, efficient and affordable options that support economic development and improve quality of life both now and in the future.

Tuesday’s meeting at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center in Greenville begins at 6 p.m. The public is also welcome for the second meeting on Monday, January 30 at 6 p.m. at the A&M-Commerce Alumni Center.

More information about the Hunt County Transportation Plan is available at their website.
