Dragons fall to South Plains in NJCAA Tournament

The Paris Junior College men’s basketball team’s season came to an end on March 18 with a 75-65 loss to the ninth-seeded South Plains College Texans in an NJCAA National Tournament game in Hutchinson, Kan.

South Plains (29-5) entered the game as the ninth seed in the tournament, while the Dragons (26-8) were seeded eighth. Paris, which trailed 34-28 at halftime, never led during the game.

South Plains guard Andre Spight led all scorers with 22 points.

Trevon Seymore led Paris with 15 points, six rebounds and four assists. Delvin Dickerson finished with 14 points, while Xavier Dupree scored all 10. Jovan Austin and Ronnie White each totaled eight.

The loss ended a season in which the Dragons finished as the regular season and tournament champion of Region XIV.
