Drug bust at Commerce hotel

Commerce – The Commerce Police have arrested four people for possession of what is believed to be crack cocaine after reports of suspicious activity at a local hotel. Officers were called out to the Holiday Lodge in Commerce on Monday after reports of suspicious activities of two males and two females in adjoining rooms. One of the females told police she was an evacuee of the recent Hurricane Rita, while the other three were Hunt County residents. The four suspects gave police consent to search both rooms.

After searching the rooms, several rocks of what is believed to be crack cocaine were found as well as another 2.2 grams of an unknown white substance believed to be cocaine. Drug paraphernalia was also found at the scene.

All subjects were taken into custody and charged with Possession of a controlled substance less than one gram, and possession of more than one gram but less than 4 grams.
