Drug plane suspect to return to Texas, face charges

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The suspect alleged to have flown a plane across North Texas while dropping bags of marijuana is expected to be returned to the State by month's end.

Darin Fayne will be brought back to face charges he possessed more than 180 pounds of marijuana and attacked a federal agent at the Caddo Mills Airport.

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks said Fayne is expected to waive extradition proceedings during a court hearing in California Tuesday, and then be returned to Hunt County. Fayne was being held without bond in California's Fresno County Jail.

The plane he was allegedly flying landed near the Caddo Mills Airport on July 19. Recovered were five duffle bags of marijuana, three of which were found in the Neylandville area, one on the roof a resident's house.
