Duplex development denied

By Kevin Jefferies

Greenville – The Greenville City Council denied a controversial duplex development proposal in regular session last night. Council members voted 4-3 in favor of the change, but six affirmative votes were required to pass the zoning change for the proposed area along King Street in Greenville.

The King Place Apartments located across the street from the proposed site houses elderly residents which expressed a high concern about the development. Worries such as increased traffic and possible crime were voiced by tenants of the complex.
