Early-morning shooting injures two in Greenville

In Greenville, a woman and a young man are recovering from non-life-threatening injuries suffered in a shooting that happened during the early morning of on Sunday.

Greenville police responded to a call in the 2300 block of Walnut Street at 4:22 a.m. on Aug. 30. Police said that an officer arrived to find a teenaged boy with a wounded foot and a woman with a wounded arm.

The homeowner told police he awoke to the sound of glass shattering and what he thought were gunshots, officials said. He told police that he ran outside and saw a dark-colored SUV leaving the scene, officials said.

Upon investigating, the officer found six bullet holes on the north side of the house - three on the house’s lower level and three on the upper level, police said. The two injured people were taken to Hunt Regional Medical Center for treatment.
