Early voting tallies for Commerce

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – Early voting for Saturday's municipal elections in Commerce proved decent, as voters made selections for or against a street bond issue; and chose their candidates for Commerce Mayor, and Council Seats 2 and 4. 128 people made it out to the poles early. Recent history has shown low voter turnout with less than 500 votes cast both last year and in 2004. There were no contested races therefore no elections in 2005 and 2006. Currently, Commerce has just over 4,000 registered voters.

Thursday night is your chance to hear our third and final extended candidate's forum on KETR, as we'll hear from candidates for City Council place 2, beginning at 5 p.m. tonight. Poles Saturday will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Commerce City Hall downtown.
