Van Zandt County – An East Texas man is charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection to a stabbing in Van Zandt County.
Bond has been set at $1.1 million for Wilhelm Ostrom, of Ben Wheeler.
County deputies were dispatched to a wreck where they found Jonathon Spillman lying on the ground suffering from multiple stab wounds. Spillman would later die after being transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler.
A second victim, Shelly Rackow, had her throat slashed, but was able to identify Ostrom to authorities.
