Economic growth high in Hunt County

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – A dramatic surge in residential, commercial, and retail development is taking place in Hunt County. During Wednesday's meeting of the Hunt County Alliance for Economic Development, county commissioners talked about booming growth throughout the county.

West and southwest Hunt County are experiencing particular economic growth as Rockwall County development is easing into Hunt County. The south and southeast portions of the county are seeing growth as well, with areas around Lone Oak and Quinlan seeing new developments and construction.

Commissioner Jim Latham said Commerce has been a particular area of growth, with numerous projects by the city and A&M-Commerce recently started, as well as a push for a highway loop around the southeast portion of the city to further spur economic growth.
