Election Day

By Kevin Jefferies

Texas – Today is general election day. Nine constitutional amendments are on the ballot for Texas. A 16% turnout is expected statewide for the election that includes a proposed ban on same-sex marriages. Texas would be the 19th state with such an amendment to their constitution, if passed. Some of the other propositions on the ballot deal with line-of-credit advances for reverse mortgages, conditions for district judges to reinstate or set new bail for people charged with felonies, and a proposition allowing the legislature to define rates for commercial loans.

The polls are open until 7pm this evening. For the location of polling places in your area, contact the Voter Administration Office at 903.454.5467.
