Texas property owners may get their next tax bills by email because of a new state law that gives counties the option.
Republican Representative Charlie Geren pushed the measure unopposed through the Legislature. Geren credited Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price with the money-saving idea when she was the tax collector-assessor for Tarrant County. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, several counties are considering implementing the service because it’s cheaper than mailing bills.
