Emory bank robber gets seven years behind bars

By Scott Harvey

Emory – 47-year-old Freddie Lee Criss, of Dallas, has been sentenced to 85 months in federal prison for robbing Emory's First National Bank in April.

Criss had pleaded guilty to the charge this summer. Reports indicate Criss walked into the Emory bank, ordered a customer to the floor, demanded cash from the tellers and fled the bank.

He would eventually be caught following a brief car chase that ended in Hunt County.
