Hunt County – Hunt County is experiencing strong growth in the job market so far this year. 275 new jobs were added between June and July and the unemployment rate continues to fall. The latest Labor Market Information report released by the Texas Workforce Commission shows that over 850 new jobs have been added in Hunt County since July of last year and the unemployment rate has fallen more than a full percentage point. The unemployment rate was posted at 6.5% this time last year but now rests at 5.3%. That also represents a decrease in the unemployment rate of 5.5% posted in June.
The state-wide unemployment was 5% for July, a fall of one-tenth of a percent.
