Evacuations ordered following major gas leak in Paris

Paris – A major gas leak in Paris forces the evacuation of several residents from their homes Monday.

The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the 100 block of SW 41st, just south of Old Bonham Road. The Paris Fire Department, upon arrival, found a line to be leaking high pressure gas. Police were called to assist in the evacuation and traffic assistance. Residents were also notified via the emergency alert system CodeRED.

No injuries were reported from the leak, but residents weren't allowed to return to their homes for about two hours until the leak had been repaired.
