Greenville – This is the week to honor the fallen members of law enforcement as part of National Police Week.
In Hunt County, all eleven law enforcements officers killed in the line of duty will be honored Wednesday morning during its 13th annual ceremony.
The names are etched into a granite marker outside of the Hunt County Criminal Justice Center.
The event is one of several scheduled this week throughout the region.
For the third consecutive year, Texas is at the top of the list of most officers killed in the line of duty. The report shows Texas had 10 officers killed last year.
