FAA to investigate Wood County plane crash

Quitman – The FAA will investigate Thursday's plane crash near Quitman that injured a Plano man.

The lone person on board, 36-year-old pilot Michael Thern, was taken to ETMC in Tyler for treatment of lacerations and possible broken ankles.

Early reports indicate the plane either ran out of gas or experienced engine failure. The plane wrecked about 500 yards short of the Wood County Airport.
