Fannin County JP Candidate Accused of Spraying Service Dog

A Justice of the Peace candidate in Fannin County stands accused of spraying a service dog in the face with pepper spray during a campaign visit last week.

The Dallas Morning News reported that Bob Clemons allegedly visited Topaz Canine Services in Leonard unannounced, when three yellow Labrador dogs ran up to him.

Topaz trains service dogs; Clemons allegedly sprayed one of the labs and later stated that he did not believe the dog was a service animal.

Clemons was up until last year the Precinct 2 Constable in Fannin County.

The owners of Topaz told the Morning News that they have filed criminal trespass charges against Clemons. Clemons could not be reached for comment.
