BONHAM – The City of Bonham will again be the EMS provider for Fannin County residents, after coming to an agreement with Commissioners.
The contract follows an announcement just two weeks ago from Judge Spanky Carter of plans to pursue other providers as a cost-saving measure. But this week's agreement, at a cost of $550,000 for one year, is about ten percent less than originally proposed by Bonham Fire Chief Brad Nichols. It's also less than what Commissioners paid for the service last year.
In January, the two sides plan to try and negotiate a three year agreement so not to address the issue again during the next budget cycle.
