It is about to become a lot easier to find fresh fruits and vegetables on the weekends in Greenville.
And it won’t be much longer before a new restaurant is part of the activity downtown at the Greenville, Farmers Market, which opens for the season May 10, with new hours of 9 a.m. to noon.
The Farmers Market is promising to offer the best seasonal, locally grown produce, including conventional and organic fruits and vegetables. A variety of other products is often available at the market.
Applications are now being accepted from vendors wishing to be a part of the Farmers Market. Additional information is available at the Farmers Market web site at www.greenvillefarmersmarket.com.
Shannon and Robert Foltz plan to open the “Ain’t Just Pie” restaurant in the Farmers Market this spring.
The project has involved tearing out the old walls of the vacant building at northwest corner of Lee and Gordon Streets. Shannon owns and operates the original location in West Tawakoni.
The business will offer home made pies, sandwiches, salads and more. An outdoor seating area about four times the size of the current structure is also being added.
