– New filings have been made for Commerce Mayor and City Council Places 2 and 4. Last week, four more individuals made their candidacy official.
Co-Owner of the Drunken Mule Tim Johnson has filed for Mayor, joining Quay Throgmorton on the May ballot.
Animal Science Lecturer at Texas A&M University-Commerce Chris Ellason has filed for City Council Place 2. He'll oppose John Sands, who's seeking a third consecutive term at Place 2.
Dr. Billy Taylor, Co-Owner of the Drunken Mule has filed for Place 4, while Billie Biggerstaff will again seek re-election for the same position. Both candidates join Texas A&M University-Commerce sophomore Russell Luttes for Place 4 on the May ballot.
Filing deadline for Commerce Mayor and both at large Council Places 2 and 4 is Monday at 5 p.m. Elections are scheduled for May 10.
