At stake locally are city council, school board, and in some areas, hospital board elections. Some school districts will have bond issues on the ballot.
Filing continues through March 5.
Valid candidates must be a qualified and registered voter in the State of Texas and be a resident of the state for a minimum of 12 months prior to the deadline.
The general election will be held Saturday, May 12.
