Final public hearing for Greenville budget

By Brad Kellar

Greenville – The City of Greenville is offering another chance to talk about the budget. Final public hearings on both the budget and the tax rate are listed on the agenda for a special Council meeting, starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday. City Manager Steven Alexander has proposed a cut in the property tax rate from the current 76.4 cents per $100 valuation to 72 cents. The Council is scheduled to adopt both the budget and tax rate during its next regular session on Sept. 23.
