Final votes in playground grant to be released soon

SULPHUR SPRINGS - We’re just days away from learning if the Sulphur Springs ISD has won $50,000 through the Clorox Power a Bright Future campaign, which ended last month.

The district was neck and neck with China Spring ISD for the award. If awarded to Sulphur Springs, the money would go toward new playground equipment at the old middle school, which will soon house third and fourth graders.

Community members had the chance to vote and decide the winner and prior to last month’s deadline, over $250,000 votes had been registered between supporters of the two schools.
