Sulphur Springs – We'll find out next week who will fill the final two years of outgoing Hopkins County Constable for Precinct 1 Roger "Tex" Maynard's term.
Over the last two days, commissioners have interviewed 14 candidates, and have one more interview to conduct next week. Judge Cletis Millsap says they then plan to narrow the field down to about six, before choosing a finalist.
Effective December 31, Constable Maynard will resign from his post, after nearly 50 years in law enforcement.
