Greenville – Greenville residents be advised it may soon become illegal to park in front of a mailbox. Violators could face a fine if they are found guilty of the offense.
A public hearing is scheduled prior to the Council's vote Tuesday.
Assistant City Manager John Adell is proposing regulations which would prohibit parking within 10 feet of a mailbox between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, except for federal holidays or when the driver is stopping momentarily to load or unload.
Enforcement of the ordinance would occur upon a complaint from the owner or the United States Postal Service.
