A report to be issued this week will reveal whether Greenville’s population increased or decreased during the past year.
The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) intends to release its annual populations estimates within the next few days, according to Donna Coggeshall, Research Manager with the NCTCOG Cooperative Data Program.
“We are taking those to our executive board this Thursday afternoon,” Coggeshall said, adding the report could be released by that evening or by the weekend. “Depending on how quickly we get that turned around.”
The population estimates are based on current housing inventories for cities in the NCTCOG region with populations of 1,000 or more and will cover the period between Jan. 1, 2013 to Jan. 1, 2014.
Last year’s report indicated that Greenville lost 20 residents between Jan. 1 2012 and Jan. 1, 2013, for an estimated population of 25,990.
