Fire advisory released for Memorial Day weekend

By Kevin Jefferies

Hunt County – Temperatures have been on rise this week and the unusually dry months of April and May have prompted the Texas Forest Service to issue warnings of increased chances of wildfires for the upcoming Memorial Day weekend. The Service is asking that everyone be conscious of the dry conditions and aware of fire dangers. Temperatures have reached the upper 90's this week, but are expected to dip by this weekend with an increased chance of rain as a high pressure ridge weakens moves west.
