Van Zandt County – An investigation is underway into what caused a fire that destroyed the Little Hope Baptist Church in Van Zandt County.
The blaze took place New Year's Day and is initially thought to be electrical in nature. A nearby auditorium was saved from the flames, but the main portion of the church is reportedly a total loss.
The church, which was organized in 1893, is a state historical site.
