Commerce – An investigation is underway into a structure fire Monday north of Commerce that completed destroyed a vacant home.
The fire took place at around 11 a.m. Monday about 8 miles north of town off Highway 50.
Commerce Fire Chief Brian McNevin says to his understanding, the property owner just wanted to burn it. Hunt County Fire Marshall Richard Hill is investigation the blaze.
There were no injuries.
The incident comes just days before the July 4 holiday, and citizens are reminded that the use of fireworks is prohibited within all incorporated cities in Hunt County.
