Firefighters Association Wants a More Transparent Suplhur Springs

The Texas State Association of Fire Fighters is asking the City of Sulphur Springs to open the city fire department’s operations to public scrutiny.

The association said in a letter to Sulphur Springs that it is "deeply concerned about developments regarding the fire service in Sulphur Springs." Specifically, the association is not happy about the position of fire chief being eliminated and what it calls a lack of transparency in the potential merger of the city fire and police departments.

The city has not responded publicly to the letter.
