The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced the All-Region honors for the Division II regions and three men and two women student-athletes earned regional honors for the Lions.
Anthony Harris, Hendrik Nungess and Matt Rich received the honor for the men and Brikel Bailey and Ashley Ross receiving the honor on the women's side.
Harris earns All-Region after winning the Lone Star Conference title in the Heptathlon. Anthony Harris was the LSC Champion in the Long Jump a setting a new meet record with a 7.31m jump. Nungess is second on the Lions with 4622 points in the Heptathlon and owns the two best shot put throws on the Lions during the 2014 season.
Bailey earns the nod after earning a spot at the National Championships in the 800m dash with a 2:13.92, which is the 18th fastest time in Division II. Ross was the LSC champ in the Weight Throw and finished fourth in the shot put.
The National Championships will be held in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The Lions will start their outdoor season on Thursday when some athletes will head to Tarleton State.
