Flash flooding, driving concerns amid heavy rainfall

Hours of heavy rains are prompting the Texas Department of Public Safety to remind motorists to avoid low water crossings and driving on flooded roadways.

When there’s water running across a road, drivers should always turn around and choose a different route.  Six inches of water can cause tires to lose traction and begin to slide.

A number of flood advisories were issued for the region Wednesday morning by the National Weather Service Office in Forth Worth.
