Greenville – A former West Tawakoni police officer is scheduled to appear in court today.
27-year-old Perry Anthony Reed has been charged with a family violence assault in connection to a reported armed standoff with Greenville Police on Dec. 29.
Reed, of Greenville, has filed a writ seeking the appointment of an attorney, a reduction in his $20,000 bond, or both. A hearing is scheduled for Monday.
Reed was one of two officers who were recently fired from West Tawakoni PD amid a reported misconduct investigation by the Texas Rangers.
