Former Cowboy Pearson speaks in Commerce

By Scott Harvey

Commerce – Former Dallas Cowboy Wide Receiver Drew Pearson was the featured speaker at Thursday's fourteenth annual Commerce Business and Industry Appreciation Luncheon held on the campus of Texas A&M University-Commerce.

Pearson, a member of the 1978 Super Bowl Champion Cowboys, also helped the team advance to two other Super Bowls during his ten years in the league.

Pearson talked about his experiences with the Cowboys, and how that experience helped him become an effective businessman following football. He has served as CEO of Drew Pearson Companies, a manufacturer of licensed headwear, since 1985. Pearson also serves as an NFL broadcast analyst.

In addition to his speech, audience members were treated to a question and answer session, where Pearson answered questions about his business practices, the Dallas Cowboys - teams both past and present- and even Terrell Owens. Autographed Pearson items were also given away.
