Former PTA president claims innocence in forgery case

www.greenvilleisd.com

GREENVILLE - The former president of a local elementary school parent teachers association has pleaded not guilty to allegations that she stole thousands from the organization.

Amy Jenkins Gray of Greenville is alleged to have forged 21 checks while with the Bowie Elementary School PTA. A judge has set a June 25 interim hearing in the case.

The indictments indicate the forged checks range from $108 to $3,900, totaling just under $20,000. Gray’s family members say the entire missing amount has been repaid.
