Four inches of snow fall in region Sunday

By Scott Harvey

– Area churches were forced to cancel services Sunday due to a rare March snowstorm, the second in as many months.

Approximately four inches of snow fell locally, with locations in Rockwall, Collin and Kaufman counties reporting even more snowfall.

Fatality accidents were reported near Arlington and Sherman due to icy roadways.

A winter storm warning was allowed to expire as temperatures rose to above 40 degrees yesterday, and the snow quickly began to melt.

Last month, approximately eleven inches of snow fell in the region, marking the heaviest snowfall in years for a majority of the area.
