Freezing rain, sleet, light snow possible Tuesday

A winter weather advisory is in effect for all of North Texas and most of Northeast Texas, including almost all of the KETR listening area. The advisory will remain in effect until 6 p.m.

Much of the region could receive a wintry mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow today, with rain possibly mixed in as temperatures climb toward the freezing mark later into the morning.

The forecast for Commerce, Greenville, Rockwall and Sulphur Springs predicts a 50-60 percent chance for precipitation, with up to half an inch of ice/snow/sleet accumulation possible, particularly on elevated roadways. Tuesday's high temperatures for Commerce, Greenville and Sulphur Springs are forecast at 33 degrees.

The forecast for Bonham predicts a 40 percent chance for precipitation, with up to half an inch of ice/snow/sleet accumulation possible, particularly on elevated roadways. Tuesday's high temperature for Bonham is forecast at 33 degrees.

The forecast for Paris predicts a 30 percent chance for precipitation, with up to half an inch of ice/snow/sleet accumulation possible, particularly on elevated roadways. Tuesday's high temperature for Paris is forecast at 33 degrees.

The forecast for Emory predicts a 50 percent chance for precipitation, with up to half an inch of ice/snow/sleet accumulation possible, particularly on elevated roadways. Tuesday's high temperature for Emory is forecast at 30 degrees.
