Gameday Preview: Lions Ready to Take On Southeastern Oklahoma State

Texas A&M Commerce women's basketball team is back home Sunday, November 26 after a 102-47 win against Letourneau. The Lions take on Southeastern Oklahoma State University, looking to get back to back wins at home for the first time this season.

There will be a toy drive and admission is $2 with an unwrapped new toy.

The Lions (3-2) are coming into Sunday’s game after a strong shooting performance from Courtney Fields; tying a 1989 Division II record for consecutive three-point shooting. A&M-Commerce improved last game shooting an exceptional 51.5% from the field and 51.9% from three-point range. Four Lions scored in double digits against Letourneau: Fields led with 29 points, Princess Davis tallied 16, Jenna Price scored 12 and Artaejah Gay had 20 and six rebounds. Gay is 12 points shy of the 1,000 point mark for her career.

Southeastern (2-2, 1-1) comes into this game off a loss to Arkansas Tech, 78-64. Last season SOSU took the Lions into overtime, losing 78-73. The Savage Storm, 17-10 (15-7 conference), were bounced from their conference tournament early losing to East Central University, 83-78.

Courtney Fields tied a 1989 Division II record for consecutive three-point shooting after a career-high 29 pt game against LeTourneau

  • Courtney Fields #5 (TAMUC) - is coming off a career game, hitting the most three-pointers in Division II this season

  • Katie Webb #24 (SOSU) - had 21 points, 9 rebounds, and added 3 steals in her previous game. The junior averaged 6.8 points last season, but is looking to fill a bigger role this season with her improved play.
