Rickey Gene Wright has been writing original music in Texas for most of his life, but didn't make it a priority until he learned that one of his songs was being played by others in Nashville bars. His band has since released their debut album, and are working on more material.
Rickey Gene Wright and Duck Creek Station, a reference to the original name of the city of Garland, produced their debut record with Brad Davis in Commerce, and Rickey is getting increased exposure in sing-songwriter gigs around the state. Matt Meinke spoke with Rickey in the KETR Studios about songwriting, public radio, working with Brad Davis, and more.
